Mr. David Derthic is the resettlement program manager head of sub-office Damak. The meet was attained by Derthic, Abhram, Kimberlin, Methew, CARITAS father and...They advised all not to hurt any refugee. Give cooperation to UNHCR. IOM is especially for the US program. Other countries may proceed with the same in future but for now its not fixed. IOM is planning to proceed with at least 100 individuals per day. UNHCR is going to disseminate the information about resettlement and repatriation one/one in English and in Nepali. Third country resettlement is the official policy of Government of Nepal, which is soon going to be made public. UNHCR requested refugee representatives to cooperate as UNHCR is acting as mother for all refugees. UNHCR cannot pressurize any one on political ground. All the statements of refugees will be submitted to Geneva.
Even for single person they are going to work and resettlement work will be carried on.Abhram is leaving for Canada in December. Ms. Desy is going to join in January.
Bhutan seems to be in pressure for sharing the burden of refugees as UNHCR expressed that RGOB is surprised to hear 107,000 Bhutanese refugees.

THE OFFER OF RESETTLELMENT OF BHUTANESE REFUGEES IN AMERICA.
The Government of Nepal (GON) has agreed upon the resettlement of Bhutanese refugees. The UNHCR has realized the necessity of finding the durable solution for the Bhutanese refugees who are willing and the US is determined for the optimum effort to bringing the solution. IOM is selected for the management of OPE. This conducts all the process for the refugees to resettle in the US. The process of interviewing the refugees would start form October. The refugee family who give interview will have to wait at least for 5-6 months for flying. Resettlement of refugees will continue until the number estimated by the UNHCR is reached. No time boundary is allocated for applying for resettlement. To opt for resettlement is in the wish and the rights of an individual which may be right decision for some family where as it may be hard for some. We want you to have accurate information with which you can make right decision for yourself.
When the resettlement work is in the process the US will continue to lobby and pressurize Bhutan to repatriate its citizens.
Eligibility for US refugee Admission program or USRAP.
The refugees who want to resettle should show interest to UNHCR. To help in this UNHCR will avail the declaration of interest form. UNHCR will study the application on individual basis and find whether the applicant’s choice is the right solution for him. If found right the UNHCR will again find the country matched for the applicant. The US resettlement program will provide opportunity to all the refugees whether one is able or disable, old or young. Before resettling an individual is judged whether one in need to be resettled but not looked upon how literate or skilled is the applicant. The application for resettlement is not always accepted. The American officials will interview every application on individual basis.
